项目摘要

本年度は習慣行動から目的的行動への逆移行現象を検証するための行動実験を中心に実施した。基本的な方法としては、1）オペラント条件づけを通じた行動の訓練後の消去テストで習慣行動であることを確認する。2）行動を完全に消去する。3）消去された行動の再発をテストする。という3段階で検証した。昨年度は更新効果(renewal effect)という現象の手続きを用いた実験を行ったが、本年度は反応復活(resurgence)という現象も組み込んで実験を行った。2)と3)の間に特定の実験操作を導入することによって、一度は習慣として確立された行動が、再発テストでは目的的行動として発現することを明らかにした。この結果についての脳損傷実験による検討と、トラッキング技術を用いた目的的行動と習慣行動の生起に前後する前兆的な行動パターンの同定にも取り組んだ。これまでの研究では、目的的行動から習慣行動への移行を促進する様々な要因が明らかにされてきたのに対し、その逆のプロセスが起こりうるか、起こるとすればその要因は何か、という問いはほとんど検討されてこなかった。本研究は、目的的行動から習慣行動への移行は不可逆的なものではなく、特定の条件下では再び目的的行動へ戻る可能性を示した点に意義がある。習慣行動は薬物などに対する依存の基礎となることが様々な研究で示されてきた。本研究の重要性は、そうした依存的な行動を特定の操作によって目的的な性質の行動に戻すことができる可能性を示した点にあり、依存症の克服と再発可能性を最小限に抑える技法の発展に向けた基礎的な成果となりうる点に発展的な意義がある。
