Tasklets: an approach to best-effort computing

The goal of this proposal is the investigation of concepts for a lightweight computing abstraction. This shall enable to process computation in a uniform way on a variety of heterogeneous platforms ranging from embedded systems, over mobile devices to cloud instances. The initial platform does not give guarantees about the execution and only provides a best-effort service. Based on this, a variety of different Quality of Computations (QoC) will be investigated.
