本研究はイマヌエル・カントの『純粋理性批判』分析論末尾にある「無の表」というテキスト箇所に着眼して、カントにおける「対象」の概念を非存在対象を許容するマイノング主義の立場から再考する試みである。カントは無の表の箇所で対象一般の概念が「存在と無とについて未規定的」であるとしており、それがカテゴリー表の秩序にしたがって、存在の表と無の表とに区別されると記されている。つまり、カテゴリーという概念の対応先として漠然と想定されている対象は、認識の成否を問わなければそれだけとしては現象に限定されておらず、むしろ結果的には無と確定されるような非存在対象をも含むかなり放埓な概念として認められるべきなのである。『純粋理性批判』においてカントは存在の表ではなく、むしろ無の表を示すことで議論を終えており、このテキスト箇所に注目することは分析論の議論を成り立たせている土俵ともいえる広範な対象領域を確定するために不可欠な論点なのである。２０２１年度の研究においては、①上述の非存在対象を許容するカントの対象論を理解するうための論理的基礎としてマイノング主義的解釈の中でも「様相マイノング主義」という立場に解釈上の利点があることを提唱すること、②カントにおける非存在対象の対象性と意義について無の表の各論に立ち入った検討を加え、欠如の表象について「０」という記号が何を表象内容として有しうるのかという問いに答えること、の二点が課題であった。
