项目摘要

本年度はverbless directives (VD)と呼ばれる動詞を含まない構造に関する研究を進展させた。VDは方向を表現する前置詞由来の不変化詞及び/または前置詞句、ないし副詞によって構成される命令文であり、文の聞き手がmit ‘with’句もしくは対格名詞句として実現する主題項の指示対象を特定の方向へ移動させることを話者が命じる機能を有している。主題項としては聞き手を指示対象に含む2人称の指示代名詞等の項、及び聞き手を指示対象に含まない3人称の名詞句どちらも実現可能である。またVDで音形として実現し得る項は主題項のみであり、主題項の指示対象に聞き手が含まれる場合を除き、移動を実現させる聞き手は音形として実現しない。これに対し、命令形動詞を用いる真正命令文は主語の指示対象に必ず聞き手が含まれていなければならない。本研究は接続法の動詞を用いる代替命令文では聞き手を指示対象に含まない3人称の主語が実現可能であることから、命令文の主語と事態実現の義務を負う聞き手が統語的に独立して存在するとする想定を採用し、真正命令文ではhigh Mod (cf. Hacquard 2006)と呼ばれる機能範疇を介した聞き手と主語の一致による素性の共有が為されるのに対し、VDや代替命令文ではこれが起こらないとする分析を行った。本研究はVDを含めた命令文の聞き手と主語（及び主題項）の関係を統語的に分析することで、VDの統語論/意味論の解明に寄与するだけでなく、命令文の派生や解釈とモダリティの関係といった命令文一般に関係する問題に関わる知見を得ることが出来た。更に命令文に於ける主語の実現・認可の過程という未だ論争が尽きない問題を解決するのに有用な知見をもたらすことに成功した。
