项目摘要

当該特別研究員は新型コロナウィルスの影響により令和2年以降予定されていたセネガルでの現地調査を実施することができず、同年10月から令和4年9月まで特別研究員としての採用を中断してきた。しかしセネガルにおけるコロナウィルス流行の収束および所属研究機関が学生の海外渡航制限を撤廃したことに伴い、令和4年10月には採用を再開し、令和5年1月から3月までの間、以下のとおりのフィールド調査を実施することができた。同特別研究員は首都ダカール市周辺で小学校、中学校、高校および大学など多数のイスラーム教育機関を訪問し、学校ごとの特色やカリキュラムの違いなどについて調査を行った。これらの学校の一部は中東諸国の支援を受けて設立されたものであったため、公立学校などの教育機関とのカリキュラム等の違いを調査することにも努めた。また、留学経験者等、中東諸国のイスラームの影響を受けた改革主義者がセネガルのイスラーム教育に与えた影響を調査するため、特にダカール市周辺に拠点を置く改革主義組織の関係者を訪問し、彼らのイスラーム観、とりわけ教育に関する考え方についてインタビューを行った。また、ダカール市のシェーク・アンタ・ジョップ大学及びブラックアフリカ基礎研究所図書館において、セネガルのイスラーム改革主義団体が過去に発行した刊行物に関する調査を行った。さらにチェス州ピールに存在する、セネガルで最古の組織化されたイスラーム教育機関とされる学校を訪問し、同校での伝統的なイスラーム教育のカリキュラムについて調査を行った。
