本研究における(1)軍需物資市場と近世在来技術の発展、(2)外来軍事技術の受容と軍需物資調達、の2つの課題について、本年度の研究実績を述べる。本年度は、新型コロナの影響による昨年度の遅延を補うため、地方における史料調査活動に注力し、一部実績を公表した。課題(1)について、まず幕藩領主による調達と市場・技術の関係を検討した。幕府において火薬や銃砲の製造・保管を担った鉄砲玉薬方に関する役職研究を行い、近世を通じた在来技術の承継と組織変容を分析、幕末期の外来技術受容の前提を明らかとした。この成果は後掲論文として発表した。また昨年度の成果を拡張し、寛政～文政期の松代藩武具方による火薬・武具調達の分析を行い、民間市場との関係を考察した。続けて民間の技術蓄積と流通の関係を検討するため硝石産地・飛騨と関係地域において史料調査を行った。村方における集積的な生産様式と域外との交易、生糸等の特産物や銃砲原料金属との関係を、商人飯嶋屋喜兵衛の活動と飛騨郡代の政策において解明し、さらに文久～慶応期に領主権力が市場を領域の論理で再編、包摂を図る様相を明らかにした。今後、他地域との比較を視野にさらなる検討を行う。この成果の一部は口頭報告を行った。課題(2)については、幕末期の幕府鉄砲箪笥方による西洋式銃砲製造について検討した。また外来軍事技術の導入に積極的であった松代藩について明治初年までの軍制改革と戊辰戦争に伴う軍需物資調達を検討した。既に研究を行った文久年間までの達成が役立てられたことを明らかにし、開港場を通じて銃砲・弾薬が流入した江戸/東京との関係を分析した。このほか幕末期における在来技術拡散と外来技術との融合について検討するため、火薬技術書・砲術書の収集・分析を行った。以上により前年度の遅延を補い、今後の研究基盤ともなる成果を得た。成果は順次論文・学会報告等の形で公表を予定している。
