The laws of Draco and Solon. A new edition with translation, commentary and analyses of the historical significance

The research project will put the fragments of Draco's and Solon's laws that have been preserved in the ancient literary and epigraphic traditions into a new systematic order, and discuss them critically within the context of existing scholarly writing. The new edition of the laws will include the original language with a German translation, as well as detailed commentary and references to literature. The concluding chapters will contain analyses of the political, economic and social significance of the laws and put them in the context of the legal history of archaic Greece.
