研究計画における初年度にあたる本年度は、①本研究の基盤となる、大学進学行動に関する理論的基盤の構築、②今後実証分析に用いるデータを収集するための調査準備、③本研究での分析に必要な統計モデルの精査の三点を主に行った。①について、まず、新古典派経済学を敷衍しながら展開してきた従来の大学進学行動研究の到達点と限界を明らかにした上で、それらの限界を克服するためには社会学、社会心理学との領域横断的な視角が必要であることを指摘した。具体的には、新古典派経済学が分析に先立っておいている合理的経済人の仮定は、各個人が意思決定に際して完全な情報を持ち、選択肢中から経済合理的な選択を行うことができるものとしてきたが、進路選択という意思決定では、親学歴等の環境要因によって得られる情報に偏りが生まれると考えられる。そのために、完全な情報を持つ、という仮定自体を改めて問い直す理論枠組みを構築することで、大学進学行動をより適切にモデル化するための基礎を築いた。②について、日本においては先にも述べたように大学進学行動は新古典派経済学を依代として展開してきたため、各個人間での情報格差は不問とされ、これまで十分に扱われてこなかったために、社会調査においてもそれらの項目を収集しているものはごく僅かである。そこで、欧米をはじめとする諸外国における進学行動分析が用いている調査文・調査形式を参照し、それを日本に適合する形に整理する作業を行った。③について、本研究で用いることになるデータから、情報が進学行動にもたらす効果を適切に分析するためには、因果推論の手法が必要となる。そこで、傾向スコアマッチングをはじめとする準実験的手法を参照し、本研究の分析に必要なモデルを精査した。
