项目摘要

本研究は、日中両国ジャーナリズム（戦前では「新聞学」と呼ばれていた）のつながりの視点から、近代中国における「新聞学」展開の流れを解明するものである。2022年度は主に任白涛という人物に焦点を当て、彼の「新聞学」への探究と日本との関係性を考察した。任白涛(1890-1952)は戦前戦中の中国「新聞学」を代表する専門家の一人である。先行研究の中、任の日本留学の経験を踏まえて、彼の新聞思想の分析を進んでいるものの、彼は日本を通じて、どのような「新聞学」知識に出会い、どのような取捨選択し受容しようとしたのか、という視点が欠け落ちている。本研究は任が日本に滞在していた1910年代に日本で展開されていた「新聞学」の活動(主に大日本新聞学会)や任が注目していた1930年代の日本「新聞学」の論著(主に東京帝国大学新聞学研究室の小野秀雄や小山栄三と雑誌『総合ジャーナリズム講座』)を踏まえて、任の「新聞学」と日本の関係性を考察する。任は当時日本で人気だった実践的な「新聞学」(取材・編集の仕方や新聞社の経営など)ではなく、「新聞学」の理論研究に強い関心を示していた。任の論著を読み進むと、任は中国で「新聞学」の学術体系の構築を試みたことがわかった。任は日本「新聞学」の学知を取り入れてその学術体系を構築しようとしたと考えられる。このように、任は自身の需要に合わせて、日本「新聞学」の学知を取捨選択して受容した。大正期から昭和初期にかけて、日本からの学知はこのような形で中国「新聞学」に影響を与え続けた。任が日本を通じて受容した「新聞学」の中に、西洋から日本に入り込んだ「新聞学」の学知も多く含まれている。西洋から日本、日本から中国という「新聞学」の学知を広がる「知の回廊」は当時の東アジアに存在していたことがわかった。2022年度は〔広島〕中国近代史研究会や広島史学研究会で研究の成果を発表した。
