本研究は近代社会における人間の能力評価における社会的排除と社会的包摂の問題を、障害、生産性、芸術的才能、優生思想などのキーワードから明らかにしていく芸術教育思想史研究である。期間中に、英国における障害と芸術的才能を中心とする能力の評価、英国の断種法の展開と優生思想の教育政策への影響、日本の学校教育、芸術教育における優生思想の影響等について検討し、社会的排除から社会的包摂に向かう「障害の美学」ないし「美的人間学」の展望を見出すことを予定している。研究3年目にあたる2022年度は英国渡航後の研究成果を受けて日本国内の優生思想の学校教育における影響について考察する予定であったが、COVID-19の影響で2020年度、2021年度に続き2022年度も海外渡航が不可能となり、購入およびインターネットで入手可能な資料に絞って収集するなど、研究期間を1年間延長することとして計画を大幅に変更した。2022年度は2021年度に収集した資料の分析に基づき、新マルサス主義（教育的マルサス主義）の思想史的背景およびロマン主義思想の影響を検討するため、マルサスからJ.S.ミルに至るマルサス主義と新マルサス主義の再検討、ミルに対するコールリッジの影響、ロマン主義と優生思想の関係性について考察した。また、近代的な能力観が障害者をはじめとする「生産性に寄与しない者」と見なされた存在を排除する契機となっていることについて優生思想との関わりと問題点を整理し、それに対する芸術的な想像力、共感の可能性から「障害の美学」を論じていくための資料収集に着手した。

This study is aimed at evaluating the human ability in modern society, eliminating social problems, obstacles, productivity, technical ability, eugenics, and studying the history of technical education thought. In the meantime, the evaluation of the ability center of the obstacle and art in Britain, the development of the seed separation method in Britain, the influence of the eugenic thought in education policy, the influence of the eugenic thought in school education and art education in Japan, the elimination of the society, the inclusion of the society, the prospect of the "obstacle aesthetics" and the "human science of beauty" are discussed. 3 years of research: 2022 - 2023 Impact of research results on eugenics and school education in Japan: Expected impact of COVID-19:2020 - 2021 Impact of overseas navigation: Impossibility of data acquisition: Possible data collection The duration of the study was extended to 1 year. In 2022, the analysis of data collected in 2021 was carried out to investigate the background of the ideological history of the New Doctrine (Educational Doctrine) and the influence of the New Doctrine on eugenics. The ability of modern times to create obstacles to the creation of "productive and creative" and to eliminate opportunities for the creation of good ideas and problems to organize and deal with the imagination of art, the possibility of empathy, the discussion of "aesthetics of obstacles" and the collection of data.
