项目摘要

新型コロナウイルス感染症蔓延の影響により、本来の完了年度を令和4年度から令和5年度に延長したが、当初から予定していた、中学校教育現場での『少年の日の思い出』の作品解釈の実態把握に不可欠な授業参観による調査は、コロナ禍において外部からの来訪者受け入れに慎重な各中学校から許可が得られず実現には至っていない。また、大学生を対象とした、『少年の日の思い出』の読書体験を通した作者ヘッセの認知度等に関するアンケート調査は、これまでに約500名を対象として資料収集ができたが、延長申請が受理されたことで、令和5年度もさらに多くの被験者を対象に継続実施し、その検証結果wo論文として発表する予定である。しかしながら、当初令和3年度に計画していた最も重要な研究調査としてのドイツにおける《Jugendgedenken》（1931年）とその原点《Nachtpfauenauge》（1911年）の間に存在すると言われる、書籍のかたちで刊行されていない複数の改作の発掘調査については、わが国、ドイツ双方のコロナ禍の影響でこれまで実施できていなかったが、令和5年度に入ってわが国において新型コロナ感染症自体の感染症法上の扱いが変更されるなど、従前とは状況が変化したこともあり、何とか調査を遂行したいと考えている。ちなみに、当研究の一環として、ヘッセ作品のわが国における受容実態分析のための、国立国会図書館及びその他の公共図書館のデータベース検証作業の成果のひとつとして、ヘッセ研究における当該データベースの効果的利用方法及びその利点と問題点などに言及した論文「国立国会図書館のHermann Hesse関連資料と検索における問題点」（Berichte 28号，日本ヘルマン・ヘッセ友の会／研究会，2023年3月）を発表した。
