2022年度は、前年度秋に実施したコロンビア大学図書館所蔵Edward Said Papersのアーカイヴ調査で得た膨大な資料を整理しつつ、その成果を部分的に発表する場を積極的に設け、それらの機会に内外の研究者・有識者たちと意見交換を行って現在進行中の研究プロジェクトの学術的価値や位置づけを再確認する一年間となった。まずは5月の日本英文学会第94回大会シンポジウム「文学の潜勢力－分節を問う、生成を辿る」に講師として招聘を受けた機会に、T. S. エリオット『荒地』出版百周年にからめて、コロンビア大学で収集した資料にも言及しながら初期サイードにかんする研究の新機軸を打ち出した。また11月には（一社）日本詩人クラブの招待で講演したが、それに先立って『現代詩手帖』10月号に関連する論考も発表している。これらも「『荒地』百年」を主題としたものだが、10月に翻訳出版したアミタヴ・ゴーシュ著『大いなる錯乱　気候変動と〈思考しえぬもの〉』（以文社）と合わせて、気候変動によって惑星的な「荒地」が現出している今日におけるサイード的「世俗批評」のあり方を思考する機会となった（なお、同翻訳書には、前年度のニューヨーク出張の際に実施した著者インタヴューも含まれている）。ことに、これらの発表や出版が、大学の外で創作・批評活動を行っている方々と語り合う機会を生んだことの意義は大きかった。「理論的」方面では、上記の発表・論文・翻訳の準備を通じて「文学（詩的なるもの）の潜勢力」や「人新世」といったより広い理論的視野から本研究課題の意義を問い直す機会を得たのにくわえ、前年度に『思想』に発表した論文「〈宗教的なるもの〉の異相」を韓国語に翻訳したいという提案を受け（2023年2月刊行）、翻訳者と密にやりとりするなかで「世俗批評」と「宗教的なるもの」との関係についての考察をさらに深めることができた。
