项目摘要

本研究は、不変化・無活用という形態的特質「体言性」が、日本語の文法変化にいかに関与しているかについて考察するものである。「体言」は、従来「名詞」と重ね合わせて議論されてきたが、本研究では両者を分離し、「体言性」を文法変化の一要因と位置づける。多様な出自から副助詞化しまた副助詞から文法変化して自由形態と拘束形態の間を往還する形式群を観察対象として、副助詞類の文法史研究の精密化、さらには日本語の文法変化を捉える観点の整理を目的とする。2022年度は計画3年目である。主として、①「ならでは」の動態に関する考察の継続、②副詞・副助詞類および「ならでは」の類例の用例調査を中心に行った。また継続して、③ノ連体用法の形態統語的な位置づけと、形式ごとの可否・広狭に関与する要因の考察に取り組んでいる。ただし、仮説の検証、論証の指標についての検討と試行錯誤に時間を要し、成果物の公表には至らなかった。①については、国立国語研究所のコーパスデータの整備充実を受け、機能変化の画期となる近代期の様相を精査している。②については、副助詞類のほか、副詞「ちょうど」「ただ」、さらに第3形容詞類「特有」「独自」等に着目して用例の収集および考察を行っている。③について、ノ連体用法は、名詞と体言を独立の概念とする本研究にとって重要な指標であり、多角的な考察を試みている。名詞を除けば広く副用語（副詞・接続詞・感動詞・形容動詞語幹および副詞性の付属的機能語）に共通する一方、例えばノ連体用法の可否には語種も関与することが知られる。漢語の場合、品詞を問わずノ連体用法に傾き、後に品詞性に応じてナ（ル）連体へ移行する趨勢もある。しかし「ならでは」の場合、和語の機能語複合体に発しながら近代期にノ連体用法を獲得し現代語で偏在する様相を示す。この動態に説明を与えるにはノ連体用法の要件や特徴に関する考察をさらに深める必要がある。
