项目摘要

2020年度より小学校において全面実施となった新学習指導要領により外国語が教科化され、高学年では読み書きを含めた指導・評価が行われれている。そうしたなか、小学校段階における英語教育の在り方を、絵本・読み物教材の活用をキーワードとして再考し、自律的・協働的な学習方法について検討することが本研究の目的である。絵本研究・絵本論の知見から、様々な特徴を持つ絵本を再整理・分類して、EFL環境下にある日本での言語学習教材として適した絵本について考察するとともに、リテラシー学習のために作成された絵本（reading schemes）等を用いた英語圏の体系的な言語学習カリキュラム等を参照し、外国語学習としての日本の小学校英語の教育課程の中にその活用を位置づけることを試みる。研究の全体計画は以下の通りである。① 日本の小学校外国語教材及び検定教科書の分析、② 絵本・レベル別読み物（leveled readers, reading schemes）等を用いた英語圏の国々の母語教育の現状把握、③ 絵本・レベル別読み物に含まれる語彙・文法の分析や指導書の分析とその中心的方略の把握　④ ①と③の比較分析　⑤ 日本国内の小学校英語のカリキュラムにおける絵本活用方法の検討本年度は文献調査を中心として研究を実施し、中学年向け外国語活動教材及び高学年向け各社検定教科書等の分析を昨年度に継続して実施した他、それらの分析に基づいて学習指導要領上のカリキュラムにおける絵本活用の位置づけの検討を行った。
