项目摘要

本研究は、日本の３つの地方都市の大学（兵庫・福岡・沖縄）で学ぶ日本人学生・外国人留学生が、それぞれの地域についての情報交換を行い、地方文化・伝統・歴史について学び合うことを目的としたプロジェクト型学習を実施する。協働学習のアプローチを取り入れることで、日本の大学間および大学内で活用できるジャパノロジーに基づいたプログラムを開発する。また、日本人学生・外国人留学生がEメール交換を中心とした協働学習をするなかで、プログラムに改良を加えながら、大学間協働学習を継続的に実施する。研究課題①「英語で地方を発信するジャパノロジーのプログラム開発と運用」は、各地域の通訳案内士（英語）を対象とした半構造化面接を行い、それぞれの地域特有の観光場所、祭り、郷土料理、工芸など、外国人に勧める日本事情についての情報収集を行った。その結果、「インターネット検索だけでは得られない情報」や、「文化の異なる外国人観光客への対応方法」など、日本国内の異なる地方文化に暮らす学生同士のEメールを通じたコミュニケーションにも活用できる多くの知見が得られた。研究課題②「日本の３大学（兵庫・福岡・沖縄）における大学間および大学内での協働学習の実施と効果の検証」を実施した。日本の３つの地方都市に住む学生たちが、英語によるEメール交換を通じて、互いの地域文化について学び合いながら、自らの言語運用能力、異文化コミュニケーション能力を向上させる。さらにプログラム実施前と実施後に、参加者である学生を対象とした質問紙調査を行い、学生からの回答結果をもとにプログラム内容を検証・改良する。調査で得られたデータは、テキストマイニングツールを用いた質的分析を行い、協働学習の効果検証に用いる。同時に、英語教育に関連する学会で検証結果を発表し、高等教育機関への導入・実践を図る。
