项目摘要

本研究の目的は、日本人英語学習者の英語の自他動詞の学習段階を踏まえたうえで、自動詞用法又は他動詞用法が使われるべきコンテクストを明確に示したアニメーション動画により、英語の自他動詞を効果的に学習できるアニメーション教材を開発することである。本研究で取り扱う動詞は、英語基本語彙リストや英語教科書コーパスを分析し、候補となる動詞を選択し、それらの動詞を含む英文の文法性・容認性判断テスト及び語彙テストを実施して厳選する。昨年度に続き、第一に、言語学・第二言語習得関連の文献調査を行った。特に認知言語学、言語類型論における自動詞・他動詞に関する最新の研究動向を調査した。また、コーパス言語学、特に英語学習者コーパス研究と、中学校・高校英語教科書を扱ったコーパス研究の分野及び語彙習得、特に動詞の語彙習得研究の最近の動向を調査した。第二に、日本人英語学習者がよく間違える主な自他交替動詞（open, close, melt, drop, break, flyなど）を抽出し、それらの各動詞につきそれぞれ2つのコンテクストを設定したアニメーション動画教材をプログラミング言語であるPHPとGoogle Formsの両方のバージョンで作成した。PHPはサイト上にアップし、アクセスできれば自由に使用できるようにした。一問ごとに解答及び解説が出るようにした。一方、Google Formsでは、全部の問題を終了した後に解答と解説を提示し、アニメーション動画もすぐに再生し見られるようにした。第三に、本動画教材をベースに選択式問題を作り、日本人大学生約60人が、一つの動詞につき二つの異なるコンテクストを与えられたときに、適切に自・他動詞を使い分けることができるかを調査した。その際、各動詞につき二つの異なるコンテクストを設定しているので提示順序を変えるなどして実施した。
