本研究の3年目である2022年度には、追加の実証研究と、研究成果の発表を行った。まず、本研究は名詞化に関わる指導と接辞の指導をあわせた指導の効果を検証することを目的としていたが、2022年度は追加実験を行い、接辞の指導を除いて名詞化に関わる指導のみを行った場合も読解と読解への自信に影響があるかを検証した。読解テストの結果は、非名詞化問題のみがわずかに点数が増加しただけだった。読解への自信も、わずかな増加にとどまった。原因として考えられるのが、名詞化に関わる言い換え問題そのものが難解であることと、学生が名詞化に関わる知識を読解テストに応用できていなかったことである。次に研究成果の発表についてであるが、11月11日から14日まで福岡で行われる予定のJALT conferenceと2023年3月21日から24日までアメリカのオレゴンで行われる予定のTESOL 2023 In-person Annual Convention に応募し、どちらもaccept された。11月14日には、JALT Conferenceにおいて「Effectiveness of academic English instruction on EFL academic reading and self-efficacy」というタイトルで口頭発表を行った。TESOLのほうは、航空運賃が当初予算の1.75倍に跳ね上がり旅費が確保できなかったため、発表を断念した。2023年の３月には、「アカデミックイングリッシュの学習法」という論文を『東北学院大学論集』106号上で発表することもできた。本研究のまとめは英語論文として執筆を行っているが論文発表には至らなかった。
