项目摘要

本研究では、古墳出現前後の手工業製品の代表として鉄器と土器を取りあげ、列島各地の鉄器生産技術系譜と地域間交流の関係を明らかにすることを目的とする。北部九州博多湾沿岸と、古墳時代前期大型前方後円墳が集中する近畿中央部奈良盆地で共通した鉄器生産技術が存在することに着目し、遠隔地型の地域間交流と鉄器生産の技術革新の関係を明らかにしようとする。大型砥石と鏨等の工具類に注目し、各地の鍛冶遺跡の大型利器製作の可能性を検討するとともに、出土土器の分析による地域間交流の検討を行うことで、多くの技術的革新があったと考えられる古墳出現期における手工業生産技術の発展過程を解明するものである。２０２２年度は、前年度に引き続き鉄器生産関連資料の集成、奈良盆地周辺の鉄器様相及び外来系土器様相の検討を行った。全国的な鉄器生産関連資料の分布状況を把握するため、列島各地の鉄器生産関連資料について、弥生時代から古墳時代前期の鉄器生産や鍛冶関連遺物などのキーワードから資料を抽出し、データベース作成を行った。現在、奈良県内資料を中心に詳細観察資料を特定し、基礎資料収集を継続中である。奈良盆地周辺遺跡の検討では、前期古墳の代表例である黒塚古墳の武器副葬の事例から、鉄器生産との関連を考察した。（水野敏典「黒塚古墳にみる武器副葬とは何か」2022年『古代武器研究』第165号　古代武器研究会）。また、シンポジウムでの口頭発表を行った（水野敏典「奈良県の動向」第6回古代歴史文化講演会『刀剣が語る巨大古墳の時代』古代歴史文化協議会　2022年10月30日　大阪歴史博物館）。地域間交流の実態を分析するため、奈良盆地周辺の外来系土器について集成作業をすすめ、詳細観察のための関係機関との調整を行った。当初予定では、資料の実見、詳細観察を予定していたが、新型コロナウイルス感染拡大を受けて見送っている。
