研究者等が学術研究の過程で作成・収集した一次資料が主体の「研究資料」は、学術資源として高い潜在的価値を有する。「研究資料」の活用を効果的に進めるためには、アーカイブズ学に基づいて整理・分析を行い、資料全体の構造を把握することが必須であるが、現在、研究機関や博物館等が所蔵している「研究資料」でさえ、多くは未整理の状態にあり、その学術的価値を十分に示すことができておらず、活用にも支障が生じている。本研究では、自然史系博物館に自然史標本とともに寄贈された「研究資料」に着目し、まずその現状把握を行った上で、アーカイブズ学的手法を用いて「研究資料」に最適な資料整理論を構築し、活用促進の基盤づくりを進めることを目的とする。2022年度は、国内の自然史系博物館における「研究資料」の現状を把握するため、自然史標本を所蔵する博物館及び関連施設・機関に対して、アンケート及びインタビューによる調査を実施するとともに、具体的に自然史博物館所蔵の研究資料の整理を実施した。アンケート調査では204の機関・施設にアンケート用紙を郵送し、100超の機関・施設から回答を得ることが出来た。この結果は現在取りまとめ中であるが、2023年度に速報的に学会で発表する予定である。また、4つの博物館において研究資料の保存・管理と利活用の状況についてインタビューを実施し、その成果の一部は日本サンゴ礁学会大会で口頭発表を行った。これらの結果から、研究資料が自然史標本をより詳細に理解するための重要な情報源となるだけでなく、地域資料としても貴重な資料であると位置づけている博物館が見られる反面、基本的には自然史標本の付属資料として位置づけられ、目録登録などがされていないため、数量や内容を把握することが難しいケースが多いという現状が確認された。

The preservation, management and utilization of research data in the museum were carried out and a part of the results was presented orally at the Japanese Academy of Sciences Conference. The results of this research are detailed in understanding important sources of information, geographical data, valuable data, location information, museum information, basic natural history data, location information, catalog information, etc. The quantity and content are difficult to grasp and the status quo is confirmed.
