1990年代以降、日本経済は長期的な停滞に陥っている。本研究では、その要因のひとつとして投資停滞に焦点を当て、日本企業の過少投資の度合いを計測するとともに、過少投資の要因を実証的に分析することで投資停滞のメカニズムを明らかにする。それを通じて、生産性の向上や賃金成長を達成するための政策を考察することが目的である。令和4年度に以下のことを行った。まず日本の労働生産性と平均賃金に関して、産業構造変化の枠組みから分析を行い、賃金停滞の要因を検証し、研究成果としてまとめた。日本では、1990年代以降実質賃金が上昇していない。分析では、まず労働生産性と平均賃金の成長率を、雇用シェアをウェイトとした各産業の成長率の加重和である産業内効果と産業間の雇用シフトによる再配分効果に分解した。さらに、2つの効果に対する各産業の寄与をそれぞれ計算することで、生産性や賃金の成長鈍化がどのような形で生じていたのかを明らかにした。日本では1990年代に生産性成長率と平均賃金成長率が大きく低下したが、それは産業内効果の低下とほぼ連動しており、生産性停滞の根本的な要因は各産業での成長率鈍化であった。産業別に見ると、経済を牽引してきた製造業の生産性成長率が鈍化しており、さらに多くのサービス産業で生産性が低下していた。また平均賃金に関しては、ほぼすべての産業で平均賃金が低下していた。雇用は相対的に賃金の低い産業に移動する傾向が見られ、平均賃金の再配分効果は1970年代から2010年代にかけてすべての期間を通じてマイナスであることを明らかにした。また、共同研究者とともに、東アジアにおけるグローバルおよびリージョナルのマクロ金融リンケージに関する実証分析を実施し、研究成果としてまとめている。

Since the 1990s, Japan has experienced a long period of stagnation. This study focuses on the key causes of investment stagnation and measures the degree of underinvestment in Japanese firms. The policy of communication, productivity and upward financial growth was investigated. The productivity growth rate of the manufacturing industry has been reduced, and the productivity of many industries has been reduced. The average rental income of the company is low. The trend of employment in the lower income sectors is evident in the 1970s and in the 1980s. Co-investigators conducted empirical analysis on financial issues and research results.
