伝統的な家族価値観が支配的な地域において、義務感や社会的圧力から介護を続けている家族介護者の負担が減少していない。このことに着目した熊谷(2022)は、可視化しづらい社会的圧力の代理変数として「主たる家族介護者の地域別介護時間」を用いて、家族介護に係る地域の異質性を考慮した回帰分析を行った。主介護者になる要因のひとつは、50代女性の地域別平均介護時間が長い地域の居住である。しかし、観察されない地域の特性は、主介護者になることに影響を与えるものの高負荷介護の確率を高めない。要介護度3以上の要介護者を介護することが高負荷介護の確率を高める要因である。高負荷介護に起因する家族介護者の精神的健康状態の悪化を防ぐために、主介護者が長期間に渡って施設入所予定者に高負荷介護を提供しないことが重要である。一方、Kumagai and Fukuda (2023)は、介護保険料の所得階級で区分した2グループ間の比較により、介護保険の軽減保険料が適用されている高齢者に対して健康寿命を延伸するために、保険者である自治体が禁煙と趣味のグループ活動への参加を促すのが良いことを明らかにした。また、日本財政学会第6回オンライン研究会 (2022年12月17日) の報告内容を研究資料としてまとめた熊谷(2023)は、「悪い主観的健康感」は「日常生活動作が独立している期間の長さ」のpredictorとして有用であることを示した。上記の熊谷(2022)は『関西学院大学 経済学論究 (高林喜久生博士退職記念号)』に所収の「ミクロ健康データ利用の2つの課題」で、Kumagai and Fukuda (2023) は本書類の作成時点でrevision required である。
