项目摘要

本研究の目的は、新製品開発におけるイノベーション・プロセスにフォーカスして、個人間および部門間の知識移転ネットワークの構造を探るとともに、トップ・マネジメントが、研究開発や製品開発活動に与える影響について、質問票調査と特許データ、文献研究などにより、検証することにある。本研究の特徴は、イノベーション活動をミクロ(開発現場レベル)とマクロ(トップ/ 組織レベル)の側面に分離して、それぞれが製品イノベーションの開発プロセスに与える影響を分析するとともに、それらがどのように相互に作用するのかについて、検証を行うことにある。マクロレベルでの製品分野や技術蓄積の方向性に関するトップ・マネジメントの関与や戦略的意思決定と、ミクロのレベルでのナレッジの適切な移転との関係性を見出すことにより、イノベーション・プロセス全体を捉える点において独創的な研究アプローチであると言える。本年度は、ミクロレベルの研究としては、知識提供者のネットワーク構造に焦点を当てた分析を行い、部門内と部門間の知識移転において、それぞれ異なる知識移転要件が見出された。この結果は、Academy of Management学会にて学会報告を行った。他方、マクロレベルの研究としては、エレクトロニクス企業における破壊的イノベーションにトップ・マネジメントがどのように関わってきたのかについての事例分析を行い、販売と開発・製造の水平的機能分化にもとづく長期的な組織的分業体制が、継続的な破壊的イノベーションを可能にすることを見出した。この結果は、Business Historyに論文として掲載された。
