本年度は、海外渡航の制限が緩められたことから、前２年度実施できなかった海外調査を行った。本研究のテーマである、ミャンマーにおける日系企業の動向を調査するために、約２週間にわたり、現地の駐在者及び日本人起業家に対してインタビュー調査を行った。特に、新型コロナ、クーデターの影響を明らかにすることに重点を置いた。その結果、特に日系企業に対する影響は３段階に分けられることがわかった。第１に新型コロナによる社会的リスクの増大である。第２にクーデターによる政治的リスクの増大である。そして第３に政治的リスクから派生する為替リスク・資金リスクである。為替リスク・資金リスクは、経済制裁等による外貨不足に起因しており、運転資金、投資資金の不足を招いている。そのため、ビジネスチャンスがあったとしても、それを捉えることができない。これは、現地で事業を行う大企業、中小企業、そして起業家も同様であった。こうした状況に対して、現地の日系企業がどのように対応するのかは、未だ不分明であり、来年度以降の動向を改めて調査することにしたい。特に、事業を拡大している場合、維持している場合、撤退する場合を分ける要因を明らかにする必要があると考えている。また、事業の性質（営利事業か社会的事業か）によっても意思決定が変わることが部分的にわかったので、こうした要因を踏まえたモデル構築の必要性を認識した。
