本研究の目的は、大学における地域志向教育が大学生の地域愛着や就職地選択意識に与える影響について明らかにすることである。本研究では、大学教育のなかでも地域志向教育が大学生の地域愛着と就職地選択行動に及ぼす影響について、出身地に留意しつつ、追跡調査のデータを用いてその因果関係を明らかにする。2022年度には、2019年5月と2021年11月に実施した「大学生の地元意識と就業に関する調査」のデータを用いて、地域志向教育が地域愛着と希望就職地選択行動に及ぼす影響について分析を行った。分析の結果、地域志向教育は県外出身者に限定的ではあるが、地域愛着を高める効果があることが分かった。また、地域志向教育は地方大学生の地域定着に直接的な効果は期待できないことも明らかになった。そして、ボランティア活動やサークル所属など課外活動が地域愛着を高めることが示された。地域就業希望の推計では産業や職業ダミー変数が有意となっており、地域の就業機会の有無が地方大学生の地域就業の決定要因になっていることがわかった。以上の研究結果は、弘前大学地域未来創生センター主催の政策科学研究会（2022年11月16日オンライン開催）にて報告したほか、論文として取りまとめ、学会誌に査読論文として投稿している。
