本研究が対象とした大阪府立浪速大学（現大阪府立大学）は、他の教員養成大学が国立大学として成立したこととは一線を画し、官立から公立への移管と、青年師範学校単独での浪速大学教育学部の形成という独自性を持った成立を果たした。そして、全国で唯一、小学校教員養成を行わず、中等教員養成に特化した学科構成を行った。令和４年度は、これまで収集した資料のうち、浪速大学教育学部設立の立役者であった福山重一の教育学部構想と浪速大学総長の教育学部構想との論争を整理した。喜多源逸をはじめとした京都帝国大学の京都学派を中心とした、科学を応用できる人材作りを目指す方向性と、中学校教育の専門家の養成を目指す福山重一の基本方針との対立の帰結であったといえる。総長との対立によって福山は辞職を余儀なくされ、その後、福山の教育学部構想を否定した堀場信吉以降の学長の働きかけにより浪速大学教育学部は昭和32年3月の最終卒業期をもって廃止された。職業指導を中心とした教育学部の存置する意義が著しく乏しいとの主張による廃止までのプロセスを考究した。教育学部の廃止後、教育学部教員のうち青年師範学校に所属していた教員は競争的研究資金の取得率が低く、戦前からのアカデミズムを継承した総合大学の専門課程に位置づかず、ほとんどの教育学系教員は教養学部に転任している。浪速大学教育学部を去った福山重一は、浪速大学教育学部で実現しようとした国立堺大学構想をのちに学長として腕を振るった芦屋大学で実現し、青年師範学校の流れをくむ職業教育を「大学における教員養成」において実現した最初の事例を構築した。
