项目摘要

日本の大学国際化を推進する組織の運営と、リーダーシップの現状および課題を国際的視点から実証的に検証・考察することを目的とする本研究において、2022年度は研究チームでの研究方向性を引き続き確認するとともに、質問票調査の計画・準備・実施、および海外関連学会での聞き取り調査を中心におこなった。米国で2000年代より実施されているSIOs調査に基づき、2019年度におこなわれた日本のSIOs調査の継続・発展版として、2022年度には日本で２回目となる日本版SIOs調査を企画し実施した。対象となる国内大学の絞り込み、調査票の作成、調査の実施などのプロセスを丁寧におこない、結果としてインターネットを通じた調査において54%の回収率を得ることができた。その成果は来年度以降、関連の学会での発表、論文、国際研究会の形にまとめる予定とする。また、2023年２月19-22日に開催されたAIEA (Association of International Education Administrators）年次大会への研究チーム員の参加を通じて、米国を中心とする北米のSIOの、コロナ禍を経たプロファイルや、大学国際化マネジメントに関する財政動向や国際教育に関する戦略の変化について、関係者から詳しいヒアリングをおこなうことができた。そして、このアメリカを中心とする北米の大学での、ポストコロナに向けた国際担当上級管理職の職務変化や国際戦略の方向性の変化を来年度以降のテーマとして、日本の大学国際化マネジメントの今後について、日米や近隣のASEAN諸国との比較をするよう研究の方向づけを確認することができた。さらに、研究分担者が仙台に集まり、またはオンラインで集会し、研究会を実施した。これまでの調査報告書の内容を総括し、翌年度以降の学会発表や論文発表、国際研究会の開催について趣旨の方向性や構成などを協議することができた。
