项目摘要

ホスティング方式の飼育実施：生活科の授業の一環としてホスティング飼育を行っている小学校（大阪府の小学校１校および福岡県の小学校１校）では新年度より前年度末に引継ぎを受けた新２年生の飼育が開始された。それに伴い，引継ぎおよび児童の飼育の様子の説明を受け，各校に訪問して飼育されているモルモットの状況を確認するとともに，飼育に必要な物品の購入等についての相談を受けた。６月にはホスティング飼育担当獣医師による検診や飼育方法についての講話・指導が各小学校で行われた。調査：児童への質問票によるデータ採集が飼育前（3月），夏期休業前，２学期（11月），飼育終了時（3月）の４回，各校にて行われた（主な質問項目は飼育動物の生理についての知識，飼育動物への愛着および世話について，学校適応，他者への思いやり）。獣医師に対しては夏季休業中のホスティング飼育終了後に，ホスティングの実施状況に関する聴取を行い，ホスティング飼育の問題点を探った。研究発表：第23回全国学校飼育動物研究大会（R4年9月4日(日)　zoomでのライブ配信）において，ホスティング飼育を行っている２校が飼育の状況に関する口頭発表を行った。また研究代表者（中島由佳）も大会シンポジストとして，ホスティング飼育についての概要を説明するとともに，質疑応答および提言を行うことにより今後の学校動物飼育のあり方等についてオーディエンスとの共通理解を深めるよう努めた。本年度における研究の意義と重要性：「ホスティング飼育」を昨年度に続いて継続し，動物飼育の児童の心理に対する効果を引き続き検証するとともに，全国的に飼育校数が減少の途にある学校動物飼育の打開策としてのホスティング飼育の利点および改善すべき点を検討した。また学会発表を通してホスティング飼育の存在と利点と問題点を社会に公表した。
