2022年度は、2021年度に引き続きコロナ禍がアメリカ社会と高等教育に与えたインパクトについて、主に政府による学生への支援施策や大学の取組に焦点を置いて研究を実施した。2022年6月には日本高等教育学会において、コロナの長期化により社会状況が悪化し、州立大学の財政や学生支援状況にも影響を与えている点について分析し、「コロナ禍におけるアメリカ高等教育のトレンド変化」というタイトルで発表を行った。また、6月には比較教育学会大会において、博士人材に焦点をあてた調査データから日米の博士人材の置かれているマクロトレンドを比較し、「日米の博士人材追跡調査に関する比較的考察」と題して発表を行った。7月にはIDE現代の高等教育642号に最新の博士人材追跡調査の結果からみた日本の博士人材養成の問題点について「博士人材追跡調査からみる日本の博士人材養成」と題した論考を寄稿した。また、11月にはアメリカ教育学会第34回大会公開シンポジウム「アメリカの大学が抱える諸問題：大学の財政基盤と市場からの影響」においてパネリストとして登壇し、コロナ禍がアメリカの大学財政にもたらした影響と機関の取組の変化などについて「コロナ禍がもたらしたアメリカ高等教育のトレンド変化」というタイトルで発表を行った。2023年1月には、東北大学入試研究シリーズ（金子書房）第7巻「コロナ禍に揺れる大学入試（２）」第5章に「コロナ禍で揺れるアメリカの大学入学者選抜」を寄稿し出版された。また2月にはIDE現代の高等教育648号に「人文社会系修士課程の国際比較」と題した論文を発表した。
