项目摘要
(1) With the lifting of COVID restrictions, this project was able to be restarted with some degree of success in terms of research data collection and analysis in the field of service-learning.(2) Frequent contact via regular online discussion sessions and research focus-group sessions Dr. Billy O'Steen (UC Community Engagement Hub Director, University of Canterbury, New Zealand), other overseas institutions as well as interaction with universities in Japan through fieldwork visits meant depth of data collection was successfully achieved.(3) Domestic field-trips were made possible to the a number of universities in Japan (ICU, Sophia, Ehime, Kagawa universities) and overseas (McGill and Concordia Universities, Canada, and University of Canterbury, New Zealand) to conduct onsite observations of domestic-run programs. For the domestic trips, I was able to obtain an in-house Nanzan University research grant which meant that the Kaken-hi grant did not need to be used. However, due to the delays in 2021 and part of 2022 due to COVID, I have extended the Kaken-hi grant one year.(4) Material collected via online discussions, international and domestic visits and a thorough review of the up-to-date literature has been analysed and used to produce research output (a journal article) which is in-print for publication in June 2023.
