大阪公立大学医学部附属病院神経精科を受診した6歳から18歳までの、自閉スペクトラム症、注意欠如・多動症等の神経発達症群、全般性不安症、分離不安症、社交不安症等の不安症群、気分障害群などを有する児童例を対象に調査を実施した。診断基準は、アメリカ精神医学会の精神疾患の診断基準・診断分類の第5版を用い、知的発達症の併存、コントロール不良のてんかんなどの器質的疾患の併存、生物学的両親とも不在であること等を除外基準とした。また易刺激性、反抗的行動、抑うつや軽躁症状などの気分症状、幻覚や被害念慮等の精神病症状および他の併存症状について評価した。親の不在などの社会的逆境、社会経済的状況や向精神薬使用歴について調査した。また評価尺度として、子どもの行動チェックリスト親版、子ども行動チェックリスト教師版、日本版感覚プロファイル、ADHD-評価スケール日本語版、スペンス児童用不安尺度親評定版、ユースセルフレポートやバールソン児童用抑うつ尺度、児童向けウェクスラー式知能検査(WISC-Ⅳ)日本語版等を実施した。易刺激性などの併存症状の有症率等の群間比較、各精神症状の有無を従属変数とし、ASD診断、主要な精神医学併存症、年齢、性別、社会的逆境や社会経済的状況、各評価尺度得点などを独立変数と回帰分析等の予備的解析を行った。また易刺激性および関連症状と感覚処理障害との関連について注目し、単変量および多変量解析を実施した。
