本研究テーマは，筋萎縮性側索硬化症（ALS）を念頭に，コミュニケーションに支障を来した難病患者・家族（療養者）へのコミュニケーション支援である．一方で，医師・看護師・療法士・臨床心理士等の専門職の業務は増大しつつある．専門領域を学習する対象者に，多忙な日々でも受講しやすい遠隔での研修システムを構築した．IT関連と大学教育における各種情報の保護・管理の仕組みへの知識と経験が引き続き集積された．参加5大学での研究倫理審査の承認を経て，自己学習ソフト，eラーニングシステム（Learning Box，株式会社龍野情報システム）に教育内容を掲載した．対面での教育で「たとえ半日のプログラムにおいても受講者にコミュニケーション支援の知識，技術を与え，心理的負担感を軽減する」ことを，遠隔研修においても同等かどうかの検討を継続してきた．2023年4月までに計40名が2回の研修を完了した．初回と2回目受講（6か月後）の比較にて，プレテスト，ポストテスト，および筋萎縮性側索硬化症の疾患理解に関するテストにおいては，今のところ明瞭な差を確認できなかったが，透明文字盤（Flick）および口文字の伝達文字数の増加，visual analogue scale (VAS)でのFlickおよび意思伝達装置使用の負担感軽減が示された．一方，口文字での負担感では有意な低下が示されなかった．口文字においては短期，一度だけの経験では負担感軽減は不十分である可能性があるが，例数がまだ不十分とも考えられる．2023年度1年間の延長により結果の集積と分析を進める．
