本年度もCOVID-19の影響で渡航が叶わず、研究の遂行に苦慮した。研究開始時よりカンボジアの学校では休校やオンライン授業が続いており、またインターネット環境も不安定なため中高生のアンケートは難しい状況であった。そこで今年度は、インターネット環境が使える大学生をターゲットとし、カンボジアと日本の学生における疾患と遺伝の認知度を知るために、予備的なインタビュー調査を行った。質問項目は以下の8項目とした。①「病気」と言われて思いつくもの、②それはどんな病気（症状）か、③その中で「治る病気」は何か「治らない病気」は何か、④「がん」は治る病気／治らない病気のどちらか、⑤生まれつき病気の人がいることを知っているか、⑥「感染症」を知っているか？治る病気／治らない病気のどちらか・かかりやすい人／かかりにくい人がいることを知っているか、⑦「生活習慣病」を知っているか？治る病気／治らない病気のどちらか・かかりやすい人／かかりにくい人がいることを知っているか、⑧親から子へ遺伝する（伝わる）病気があることを知っているか。インタビューは、zoomを使用し、カンボジアの学生2名、日本の学生1名に対して行った。2020年度に実施した高等学校の教科書調査では、カンボジアの教科書は遺伝に関する内容が充実していたが、インタビューでは科学的に正しい知識は多くはない様子が見られた。また、インタビューに協力した学生は生活習慣病に関する知識もあったが、カンボジアの一般人では糖尿病に関する知識がないとの情報も得ており、今後さらなる調査が必要である。
