岐阜県関市春日神社に伝来した能狂言面等61面を東京国立博物館に1年間寄託を受け、さまざまな角度からの撮影、Ｘ線ＣＴ撮影、蛍光Ｘ線調査、樹種調査などの科学的調査を前年度から引き続いて行ない、その成果の一部を7月20日～9月26日に特集「岐阜県・関市春日神社・能狂言面」として展示公開した。調査の詳細は『関市文化財報告第50号　関市春日神社　文化財詳細調査報告』第一巻（A4判、176ページ、カラー,令和4年3月刊）にまとめて掲載した。同社の能狂言面の多くは室町時代・15～16世紀の作で、個性的な、しかも質の高い面である。その詳細な画像、制作技法、樹種が把握できたことは貴重である。室町時代の能狂言面の特色を抽出して、時代判定の基準につなげたい。宮崎・内藤記念館所蔵の能狂言面（延岡藩主内藤家伝来）72面の調査・撮影を行なった。同館には「天下一若狭守」と記す焼印が押された面が10面あるが、この焼印を用いた面打（能面作家）については未詳である。この面打について考察するのに欠くことが出来ない資料であり、今後関連資料を捜索して追求したい。根津美術館所蔵250面の能狂言面調査に着手した。同館所蔵の能面の多くは因州池田家伝来のもので、制作年または入手した年、作者が銘文に記されていることが多い。18世紀の制作年と作者を記した銘文は信憑性が高く、基準作例となる点が重要である。18世紀の能面、面打の作例を整理して制作年代と作家の推定に結び付けることができそうである。
