2021年度も感染症拡大にともなう世界的影響のため、海外調査を実施できなかったものの、文献資料精査と執筆に集中して取り組むことができた。4月は『聖性の物質性』（三元社）に寄稿するためネーデルラントにおける奉納像と奇跡像に関する論考を執筆した（「中近世ネーデルラントにおける奇跡像と奉納像」、2022年4月刊行）。5月は西洋中世学会全国大会にて口頭発表を行い、ヤン・ファン・エイクと工房作《磔刑》《最後の審判》二連画に表された骸骨の翼部にみとめられる銘文について、その典拠と解釈について新知見を提示した。本発表の成果は、2021年12月にMDPIのArtsより、オンライン欧論文として刊行された（Jan van Eyck’s New York Diptych: A New Reading on the Skeleton of the Great Chasm）。6月にはBrepols Publishersより単著Images and Indulgences in Early Netherlandish Paintingが刊行され、世界的に高評価を得た。また、同出版社刊行のThe Medieval Low Countriesの第8巻に、Van Eyck: an Optical Revolutionに関する書評を寄稿した（2022年3月刊行）。12月には共著『天国と地獄、あるいは至福と奈落　ネーデルラント美術の光と闇』（ありな書房）が刊行され、国内の書評においても高い評価を得た。奉納像研究に従事し、邦語・欧論文を複数執筆した一方、来年度以降の研究資金やポジションへの応募も並行して行い、2022年4月より名古屋大学高等研究院の特任助教に就任予定である。本年度まで取り組んでいた奉納像研究の成果を今後の研究に活かし、最終的には一冊の単著として刊行することを目指している。
