2020年5月から８月にかけて、英国の研究者と協働で研究を行った。当初5月に英国に渡航して集中しての協働研究を予定していたが、 COVID19で渡航が叶わなくなった。そこで、Skype for Businessを通じて打ち合わせを重ねた。非正規移民を「移住インフラ」通して分析し、1) Entry、2) Settlement,、3) Exitの3つの段階でそれぞれどのようなインフラが形成されているかを、日本と英国の事例で比較した。日本の方がより政府の施策（技能実習制度）が非正規移民を生み出す原因となっており、施策には移住産業が深く関与している点が明らかとなった。同年8月、英文ジャーナルComparative Migration Studiesに論文を投稿した。当初、2020年8月から9月にかけてニューヨークに渡航し、現地の非正規移民へのフォローアップ調査を予定していた。しかし、COVID19で海外渡航が不可能となった。そこで代わりに非正規移民に関するさらなる文献研究、また博士論文の一部を基礎とした英語論文”The Production of Illegal Migration into Japan”の執筆を行った。同年9月末時点で初稿を書き終えており、今後英文ジャーナルへの投稿を目指す。同年10月の科学研究費応募を見据え、新たな研究を開始するための基盤形成を行った。博士論文では技能実習生が非正規移民の新たな発生源となっている事実が確認された。そこで、技能実習生を取り巻く制度・機関を整理・分析するための予備調査を7月より開始した。技能実習生送り出し機関役員、技能実習生雇用企業、特定技能人材、技能実習生、派遣会社へのインタビュー調査を複数回行った。技能実習生送り出し機関からは監理団体を紹介してもらう約束を取り付けた。一般に監理団体へのアクセスは難しく、今後の進展が期待される。

Skype for Business Irregular immigrants "migration" through analysis, 1) Entry, 2) Settlement, 3) Exit of the 3 stages of the formation of "migration", Japan and Britain cases are compared. Japan's government policy (skill training system) is to create a deep relationship between irregular migration and migration industry. August of the same year, English journal Comparative Migration Studies paper submitted. From August to September, 2020, the survey on irregular migration and migration in the region was scheduled. COVID-19 is impossible to sail overseas. The author of the thesis "The Production of Illegal Migration into Japan" is a part of the literature research on irregular migration in Japan. At the end of September of the same year, the first draft of the book was completed, and the future English page was submitted. In October of the same year, the scientific research fund was raised, and new research was started. Doctoral thesis: skills development and new generation of irregular immigrants are confirmed. The preparation of the study began in July. Skills training send out employees, skills training hire companies, specific skills, skills training, dispatch organizations, and multiple surveys The skill is trained by the supervisory body and is subject to discipline. The general supervision system has been working hard, and future progress is expected.
