当該年度は新型コロナウィルスの影響で、調査などの計画が一部中止・変更を余儀なくされたが、資料収集や成果発表はある程度継続して行うことができた。研究実績は主に以下の3点である。①『傷痍軍人成功美談集』(偕行社、1943年)における美談の型と内容を分析した。美談集は実話を元にしながらも、当時人気を博した大衆作家を起用し、「脚色」をあらかじめ読者に宣言した作品集であった。その「潤色執筆」の効果を、傷痍軍人の模範像を示す「再起奉公」という言葉、そして当時推し進められていた「大衆娯楽型陸軍宣伝」に触れながら考察した。成果については『昭和文学研究』(第83集、2022年9月)に掲載された。②戦時下の傷痍軍人表象について考えるにあたり、1938年10月以降継続して行われた、軍人援護強化キャンペーンと、それに関わる傷痍軍人表象を考察した。子ども向けの作品集『銃後童話読本』(金の星社、1940年)と一般向けの『軍人援護文芸作品集』(全3輯、軍事保護院、1942～1943年)を取り上げ、文学がどのように加担したかを明らかにする一方で、作品集に現れる援護思想を逸脱する語りについても指摘した。成果については口頭発表を行った上で、論文を『人文学フォーラム』(第5号、2022年3月)に発表した。③戦後の傷痍軍人表象を考えるにあたり、戦中から90年代まで活動を続け、また文壇に知られた傷痍軍人作家であった直井潔に着目し、作品内の母や妻と結んだケアの関係性に着目することによって、直井の戦争の「傷跡」の語りがいかになされ、また変化したのかについて考察した。その成果については口頭発表を行った上で、論文を坪井秀人編『戦後日本の傷跡』(臨川書店、2022年)に執筆した。以上の研究を通して、傷痍軍人を描くことの効果や戦略を明らかにするとともに、文学と他メディア、社会的背景との相互関係についても考察することができた。

Written by Hideto Hirai, author of the paper "Japan's Trauma after the War"(Linchuan Bookstore, 2022). The above research is conducted in the context of literature and social background.
