项目摘要

本研究は瑜伽行派の根本典籍『瑜伽師地論』を中心に、同学派の無常説の展開を明らかにすることを目的とする。初年度と同様に、新古層に基づいて六つに区分し、そのうち当該年度は、(2)「菩薩地」、(4)「摂異門分」「摂事分」、(5)(6)「摂決択分」に焦点を当てて研究を進めた。まず、(2)「菩薩地」については、初年度に引き続き「若手研究者海外挑戦プログラム」での滞在先ハンブルク大学において専門家とともにテキスト校訂と現代語訳の改善に努めた。「菩薩地」の記述が不明瞭な箇所を中心に、チベット語訳で残る注釈書『菩薩地解説』の読解に取り組み、『菩薩地解説』の「菩薩地」理解を整理した。この作業を通じて、『菩薩地解説』の特徴についても検討、整理した。(4)「摂異門分」については無常説に関わる箇所に加えて、一見無関係に見えるその前後の箇所にも範囲を広げて、解説の対象となる経典の特定だけでなく、「摂異門分」内の構成の解明にも努めた。この「摂異門分」の構成の特徴については日本印度学仏教学会にて口頭発表し、同学会誌に投稿した。一方で、これらの作業を通じて、『雑阿含経』を解説する「摂事分」とのより密接な関係も明らかとなった。しかし、両者の関係についての詳細は検討課題である。また、「摂事分」における無常説についても現代語訳を作成しながら網羅的に調査したが、これまでの研究成果と関連する箇所は少ししか見いだせなかった。(5)(6)「摂決択分」については、(1)「声聞地」(2)「菩薩地」と直接対応する「声聞地決択」と「菩薩地決択」に絞って検討し、該当箇所の現代語訳を作成した。以上の成果と初年度の実績を整理すると、(2)「菩薩地」に始まる無常説が有為の四相として(3)「意地」に受け継がれ、(5)「摂決択分」では「意地」の議論を踏襲する箇所において整理されるという一つの大きな流れを示すことができる。
