2020年度は、「北海道内奉納絵馬」調査計画の2年目として、前年度に引き続き、道内および関係地域の現地調査を準備していたが、今般の感染症対策等の状況下で、現地調査をほぼ取り止めねばならない事態となったため、収集済みの画像データによる分析と並行して、図録や報告書などの文献類やWEB上でのデータ情報までも含め、以前、研究代表者自身も関わった北海道内の奉納大絵馬調査（平成29年度、北海道教育員会文化財保護課）のデータも参照し、出来うる限り画像データ収集を行うこととした。それをうけて、北海道内奉納大絵馬のリストの作成、作品分析、考察に取り組んできた。すでに調査できた石狩八幡神社、礼受神社、苫前神社は、実見調査によっても、その武者絵絵馬がすぐれた作例であること、および作者等の関連性が予想されたことから、リスト作成においては、奉納の地域を重視する方針で、日本海沿岸地域（旧西蝦夷、とくに現石狩から留萌、苫前から網走方面まで）、太平洋沿岸地域（旧東蝦夷、とくに日高地域を中心に厚岸、根室方面まで）に区分して、とくに武者絵、物語絵の絵馬作品のリスト作成、分析考察を行った。その中で、いまだ作成分析の途上ではあったが、奉納者と奉納時期、絵馬の画題との密接な関連が認められる作例も見出されたこと、また船絵馬師として著名な、杉本派や吉本派、絵馬藤らの武者絵絵馬の作例が、道外他地域に比較しても、当該地域に数多く伝来することなどが明らかとなりつつあった。道外の他地域、金沢はじめ北前船寄港地、各地社寺の奉納絵馬についても、資料を収集し、作者奉納者、画題等の当該作品との関連から調査分析を進めてきた。当該研究に関わる論考として、「「晋の予譲の例を引き」―予譲の説話と絵馬をめぐって」（『かなしむ人間』、北大出版会、2019年）を執筆した。なお研究代表者の事情により研究途中ながら本研究課題を中止することとなった。
