岩手県の伝統的工芸である南部鉄器の鉄瓶の輸出用の造形について示すにあたり，従来の南部鉄瓶の典型的な造形や表面にデコレーションされる文様（多くはアラレ模様）のバリエーションのアンケート調査を行い分析した。南部鉄器の輸出先の国によって、好みは大きく異なり、例えばアジア圏と欧米とでは大きく好み が異なる。また、中国のような大きな面積を有する国では、地域によってさらに好みが異なると考えられる。そこで、本年度はアジア圏を基軸にアンケート調査 を行った。アンケートを行った大きな目的は、アジアのさまざまな地域における南武鉄器の買い手のデザインの好みの理由を把握することにある。アンケートで 使用したデザインバリエーションは46種類であり、中国、台湾、タイを対象に実施した。アンケートは SNSのプラットフォームを活用し1週間リリースし、総計 で424人がアンケートに参加した。内訳は中国で265人、台湾で96人、タイで63人であった。年齢は10歳以上から60歳以上の範囲で、中国は男性116人と女性149人 で、台湾は男性40人、女性56人であり、タイは男性37人と女性26人であった。各年齢層の参加者数は 中国では、10代で4名、20代で55名、30代で48名、40代で23名、50代で92名、60代以上で43名が参加した。台湾では、10代で2名、20代で37名、30代で12名、40代 で32名、50代で9名、60代以上で4名の参加者があり、タイの場合、10代で1人、20代で9人、30代で3人、40代で18人、50代以上で2人がアンケートに回答した。ア ンケートに参加した者は、46種類の南部鉄器の鉄瓶のデザインから5つの最も好ましいデザインを選択してもらった。これらの分析をもとにデザインスケッチを進めているが、コロナ禍の罹患の疑いがあった時期があったため、研究内容が遅れているが、遅れを取り戻すため努力中である。
