本研究の目的は、鈴木大拙の大乗仏教の思想を起点として環太平洋的な視点から比較考察することにより、エマソンの思想のグローバルな特質を提示することにある。本年度は渡米しハーヴァード大学を中心にした研究調査活動、学会発表、エマソン研究者等との意見交換を計画していたが、新型コロナ感染拡大が続いたために断念せざるを得なかった。6月18日～19日には信州大学（松本キャンパス）で開催の比較思想学会第49回全国大会に参加し、題目「エマソンの超越主義主義思想と王陽明の〈心即理〉」の研究発表を試み、比較思想学会員と本研究課題に関する意見交換を行った。発表内容は同学会誌『比較思想研究』第49号（2023年3月）に掲載された。また 米国 Northeast Modern Language Association 第52回年次大会（Online, 2021年3月)での発表内容をまとめた論文 "Comparative Investigation of Daisetsu Suzuki's Pure Land Buddhism and Emerson's Religious Thought" は、米国の Journal of East-West Thought, vol. 12, no. 4 (December 2022) 誌に掲載された。10月7日には日本ソロー学会全国大会（慶応義塾大学）に出席し、本研究課題を中心にソロー学会員、エマソン研究者達と意見交換を行った。さらにヨーロッパのキリスト教神秘主義の思想家の文献講読を中心に2週間毎に Online で開催された比較思想研究会に参加し、英、独、仏文学・思想・宗教研究者達との意見交換を試みた。本年度は旅費の支出が少額だったため、日、英、米、独の文学・思想・宗教、大乗仏教、鈴木大拙に関する文献等を中心に購入し、本研究課題に関する理解を深めることが出来た。

The purpose of this study is to provide a comparative study of the starting point of Suzuki's ideas and the characteristics of his ideas in the Pacific Rim. This year, the university will conduct research and research activities, and exchange opinions with the university. On June 18 - 19, the 49th National Conference of the Comparative Thought Society was held at Shinshu University. The topic was "Transcendentalism and Wang Shouren's" Mind is Theory ". The members of the Comparative Thought Society exchanged views on this research topic. The content of the report was published in the Journal of the Association for Comparative Thought Research No. 49 (March 2023). "Comparative Investigation of Daisetsu Suzuki's Pure Land Buddhism and Emerson's Religious Thought" was published in the Journal of East-West Thought, vol. 12, no. 4 (December 2022). October 7, 2013--Attended the National Conference of the Japan Institute of Technology (Keio University), and exchanged views with the research center's members and researchers. The Center for the Study of Mystical Thinkers 'Literature is open every two weeks to encourage the exchange of views among scholars of literature, thought and religion. This year, we purchased a small amount of travel expenses, Japanese, English, American, independent literature, thought, religion, Otsuka Buddhism, Suzuki Daisuke, etc., and have a deep understanding of this research topic.
