项目摘要

今年度も昨年度と同様に、新型コロナ・ウイルス感染症の拡大のため、予定されていた海外出張等を行うことができなかったので、研究代表者が責任編集者となって進めている日本ケルト学会50周年記念論文集『ケルト学の現在』の執筆・編集作業に専念することにした。その結果、論集全体の「総論」に当たる「ケルト学の理解のために」と、ブルターニュに関連する２論文「グウェンフランのブルターニュ」および「エルネスト・ルナンの『ケルト諸人種の詩歌』について」を完成させることができた。「ケルト学の理解のために」はケルト学の発祥から今日のケルト学に至るまで、その歴史と中心的な論点をまとめた論考であり、ケルト学があくまでもケルト語を核とする学問であることを強調した。ブルターニュに関する論文２編は、各々口頭伝承と人種論を論じている。同論集は現在初校の段階であるが、今秋には三元社より出版される予定である。一方、研究代表者が過去7年間代表幹事を務めた（今年度4月より交代）日本ケルト学会の第42回研究大会を本務校の鹿児島大学で開催し、1件の発表を行ったほか、例年研究大会の最後に行われる小シンポジウム「フォーラム・オン」でコーディネーターを担当し、報告1件を行った。発表では、2019年に死去した友人にして研究仲間であり、ブルターニュを代表する民謡歌手・研究家であったヤン＝ファンシュ・ケメネール氏について、「ヤン＝ファンシュ・ケメネールの功績について」というタイトルで、その業績を振り返った。小シンポジウムでは、「奄美のケンムンを「ケルト」の視点から見る」というタイトルのもとに、研究代表者のもう一つの専門である奄美研究とケルト研究との共通点・類似点を探るべく、奄美の妖怪であるケンムンとケルト伝承の妖精を題材として、3名で報告と討論を行い、研究代表者は「奄美のケンムン伝説について」という発表を行った。
