Rethinking political representation in the light of dramatic art under the French Revolution

During the past academic year, I worked on a co-edited collective book project with Professor Sumi, Emeritus Professor at Keio University, Tokyo. This project has arisen from two colloquia we had organized together in 2018 and 2019. During two stays I made in Tokyo, the collection and editing of the texts progressed well, as well as the conception of the structure of the book, in order to operate the synthesis of the subject matters dealt with (the transformation of family models and the construction of a new public sphere in the 18th Century and the revolutionary decade (1789-1799). The completion of this work is scheduled for September 2023. After a long interruption, I was able to go to France for a research visit, and I took advantage of this opportunity to present my field of research in a seminar on 18th century literature and the Revolution, at the Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon (ENS-LSH). I also had a couple of papers published (5 directly related to my project, out of them 2 were translated in Japanese by fellow scholars, Prof. Miura Nobutaka and Ono Ushio (Chuo University, Tokyo).
