2022年度は、3年ぶりにタンザニア連合共和国に出張することができ、9月9日～20日の日程で調査を行った。ザンジバル島では北部県北部A郡のチャアニ村に赴き、2019年度までもずっとコンサルタントを務めていただいた方に依頼し、「チャアニ変種」について従来の調査で聞き逃していた文法的疑問点をいくつか確認した。また、「トゥンバトゥ―ゴマニ変種」の民俗語彙収集のために、海洋生物の絵を用いて聞き取りを行った。ただ、今回もペンバ島における「ミチェウェニ変種」の調査を行う時間は確保できなかったため、来年度の課題とする。研究の社会的還元としては、「「アフリカ文学」と言語問題―スワヒリ語作家サイド・アフメド・モハメドを中心に―」（＠洪庵忌―適塾の夕べ―、2022年6月6日）、「大阪大学外国語学部の「これまで」と「これから」」（＠中之島アートエリアB1、21世紀懐徳堂シリーズvol.4「箕面キャンパスの挑戦～新たなキャンパスの在り方をめぐって～」、2022年6月30日）、「ザンジバルの村での生活を通して見えたもの」（＠第4回大阪大学サイバースポーツコンプレックス（CSC）シンポジウム基調講演、2022年8月10日）、「大阪大学外国語学部の歩み（＠在タンザニア日本国大使館、2022年9月18日）、「周縁から見た世界～スワヒリ語とタンザニアでの経験を通して～」（＠第2回箕面市姉妹都市交流フォーラム「姉妹都市交流がめざす世界の平和～私たち市民にできること～」、2022年11月27日）、「周縁を学ぶことの面白さと魅力―スワヒリ語とアフリカ地域研究を通して―」（＠国際教育講演会「真の国際人を育てるために教育現場ができること」一般社団法人「学びにSPARKを」主催、2023年2月13日）という講演を行った。
