项目摘要

外国人留学生受け入れの拡大が進められる中で、多様な留学生が日本に留学できるように、多くの大学において英語学位プログラム、英語による交換留学生プログラムが増設されている。これにより、留学生が日本語レベルにかかわらず、一定の英語力を有していれば専門科目を学ぶことが可能になっている。しかし、留学生の多くは日常生活、学内での活動、アルバイト、インターンシップ等で、一定以上の日本語力が求められており、とりわけ、就職活動において、英語学位生であっても高いレベルの日本語力が求められることが多いため、就職が難しい状況にあり、大学の英語環境（受け入れ時）と就職時（出口）の言語環境に大きなギャップが見られる。このような課題を解決するための研究データの蓄積とそれを踏まえた教育ガイドラインの発信が強く求められている。こうした点を踏まえて、本研究では日本の大学において英語環境で学ぶ留学生（英語学位コース、交換留学生プログラムの留学生等）に対する日本語学習、複言語学習の実態、教室外の言語使用環境、社会参加と人的ネットワークの広がりの調査を行ってきた。2022年度は引き続き、日本語を学んでいる留学生へのインタビューを行い、学生たちの言語学習状況を調査した。また関係プログラムの担当教員に聞き取り調査を行い、受け入れ側の状況と現状の問題点を分析した。加えてコロナ禍が留学生の人的ネットワークや学び方に大きな影響を与えたため、コロナ禍でのオンラインでの多様な人びととの交流、協働学習、社会とつながった探索的な学び（フィールドワーク）の分析を行った。そして、これらの分析結果を学会発表、論文、書籍などの形で発信した（論文２本、学会発表７件、書籍５冊の出版）。
