项目摘要

前年度までの研究成果として、視覚的な教育的なリソースを鑑賞するという「視覚情報の学び」と、そのリソースの背景や本質について言語的に理解するという「言語の学び」の統合的な学びの効果が確認できた。2022年度は、この統合的な学びを意識した研究を行なった。具体的には、小学校での英語授業実践と、高校での絵画創作と外国語学習との関連に関して聞き取り調査を行った。小学校では、児童の異文化間能力の育成を目指した外国語学習の実践を行った。担当者が授業で使用している教科書を発展的に活用し、「世界とつながる私たち」というテーマで、「国際理解・文化」の学習として位置づけ、探求的な学習を行なった。特に、３学期の発表会では、「Over the Horizon Project－世界とつながる私たち」として、児童が文化について学んだことを地域の英語学習サポーターや教員志望の大学生などへ英語で発信する活動を行った。この発表会では、英語で発信するだけの形式的な活動にならないように、絵本やスキットなどの創造的な発表形式とした。「言語」「食べ物」「行事」などの文化のテーマで、児童がこれまでの学びを再構成し、自分ごと化を促進することを目指した。高校の研究では、広島市立基町高等学校（普通科創造表現コース）の調査を行なった。同コースにおける「原爆の絵」作成のプロジェクトは、広島平和記念資料館の依頼により、この創作活動に賛同する学生が、被爆者の証言をもとに、原爆の絵を作成するという活動となっている。この創作活動は、広島平和記念資料館の活動と同校の教育活動が連動している。本活動に興味を持ったオーストリアの高校へと発展し、必然的に英語学習を含む発展的な学びへの意欲が向上している。このような創作活動と関連の学習活動の事例は、ミュージアムの教育活動と学校の教育活動の効果的な連携を示している。
