本年は３年の研究期間を１年延長した年度となる。3年の研究期間であったものの，COVID19 感染拡大のために20年度，21年度が渡航不可能となり，実態調査に関わる部分が実施できなかったために延長とさせていただいた。その他の研究は予定通りに進行した。昨年は1962年「課程標準」準拠版教科書の計量的・質的調査分析とその編著者である英千里の研究，そして今一つは，戒厳令解除後の，大きな改革が始まる1990年代以降の教科書に見られる変化と特徴を考察した。これは現在の英語教育に続く重要な改革の一つとなる。これに続き，本年は英千里が台湾英語教育においてどのような位置づけになるのかを，その当時の台湾の英語教育者との関わりと，それぞれの編纂教科書からそれを裏付けることを試みた。2022年11月末，そして2023年2月にはようやく現地調査を再開でき，念願であった輔仁大学では，現地でしか入手できない資料により，英千里についてのこれまでの調査分析の裏付け，並びに補完をすることができたのは大きな収穫であった。また，戒厳令解除後の教科書題材内容と，指導法における発問・タスクの調査分析では，昨年行った「文学的題材」に続き，「政治・社会的題材」における指導方法や特徴を明らかにし，教科書研究を全体的に行うことができた。さらに，戒厳令解除後の教科書に見られる題材内容に「環境問題」が多いことに着目し，これが民主化と補完関係にあり，台湾社会の民主化にとって重要な問題であることが示唆された。これにより，社会および政治的な要因が教科書編纂に関わっていたことが明らかとなった。一方，日本の新課程の高校英語教科書のパイロット・スタディを行い，台湾の教科書の優れた点をどのように日本の教科書へ応用できるかを検討した。これら研究成果を学会で口頭発表をした。
