The Epistolary Networks of Chinese and Japanese Studies Scholars in Nineteenth Century Europe: Collecting, Editing, and Printing East Asian texts

In 2022, I continued writing my manuscript about Stanislas Julien's epistolary network, tentatively titled "Stanislas Julien and his Chinese correspondents". The manuscript includes a transliteration and analysis of the letters sent to China the years 1835 and 1836. The letters are from a manuscript document held in Lille Library. Letters written in stenography style will provides many insights on how Stanislas Julien acquired Chinese books via the missionaries in China.I also continued to update the reference list of all letters sent by Stanislas Julien during his life. It now includes more than 190 letters. I am currently finishing a manuscript that will include a transliteration of these letters.
