本年度は年度途中にワクチン接種などの条件付きではあるものの、海外渡航が可能になったため9月にカナダに渡航し、カナダ政治研究者へのヒアリングを実施した。その中で、本研究がカナダ政治学会に持つ貢献を整理することができた。具体的には、これまでは十分に検討されてこなかったカナダの政治家のキャリアを通じた連邦州政府間の政府間関係の解明を行うことの可能性が確認できた。これによって、本研究課題が進んでいる方向性に大きな誤りはないことが示された。これに加えて、複数のカナダ政党政治研究者を紹介してもらうことができた。この点は、研究ネットワークの拡大という面でも成果を得ることができたと考えられる。この研究者たちには、翌年度以降コンタクトを取り、研究内容の充実に向けたコメントを受ける予定にしている。さらに、今年度までの研究成果について、カナダでの学会報告を行うべく、2023年5月から6月にカナダ・ヨーク大学で開催されるカナダ政治学会（Canadian Political Science Association）での報告に応募し、無事採択された。最終成果のとりまとめに関して、カナダでの政治学者からのコメントを受ける機会を得られることは大きな意義がある。以上の通り、今年度は研究に一定の進捗をみることができた。一方で、コロナ禍の渡航制限の影響が年度途中まで残ったこともあり、最終成果のとりまとめまでには至らなかった。このため、本研究課題について、再度の延長申請を行った。
