2022年度は、新型コロナウィルス感染の影響により中断せざるを得なかった保育現場の視察、及び海外視察を可能な範囲で徐々に実施し、新たなデータを収集した。それらを、いままで積み上げてきた分析結果と合わせて整理、分析した結果、保育の中で例えば子どもの逸脱行動やケンカの場面の対応を保育者が求められるとき、「べきである」という価値基準で“よさ”を規定してしまうけれども、“よさ”はその場の状況、関係する当事者たちの願いや訴えの相互交渉によって決まっているものであり、“よさ”はあらかじめ定義することはできないということが明らかとなった。保育においては“望ましい姿”のリストが掲げられ、子どもの自由闊達な振る舞いを“かくあるべき姿”に誘導/援助/育成するのが保育行為とされがちである。しかし、子どもは大人（保育者）に「一個の意思をもつ人間なんだ」と訴え続けることで“よく”生きようとしていたことが明らかとなり、子どもは“よさ”を求めているのであって、よい（とされている）こと、悪い（とされている）ことに気付き、考えながら行動しているわけではない。これは同時に、保育において脱目標化を実現することの重要性も示している。そして、脱目標化の実現には、保育者が、子どもの中から“よく”なっていくことに対して深く信頼するとともに“よさ”の未定義性を受け入れる覚悟をもつことが鍵となる。今後は、子どもが自ら“よく”なっていく筋道とものごとの本質を解き明かそうとする“おもしろさ”との関係構造を明らかにし、保育において脱目標化を阻むものは何か、追究する予定である。
