コロナ禍を経て、海外の教育現場への現地調査に赴くことできたことは、大きな進展であった。昨年度は、アジア地域の中で、教科横断の優れた実践に取り組んでいる、シンガポールを訪れた。音楽科と他教科・領域が関わる実践校の情報を事前に現地の研究協力者から得て、小、中、高校、大学に赴き、調査を行った。シンガポールでは長年にわたって現職教員の教員研修に力を注いでおり、ベテランから若手までが最新のテクノロジーを活用した授業づくりや、創造的な音楽表現活動についての指導法の修得の機会が保証されている。また、さまざまな文化的背景をもつ児童・生徒が、各自のルーツとなる文化を学べるようなカリキュラムが配慮されている。音楽と言語を関わらせた、横断的な音楽授業（例：中国の歌曲を学び、中国の言葉に親しむ活動）、あるいは地元シンガポールの会社による、音楽制作ソフト（BandLab）を使った協働的な創作活動も盛んである。いずれも、教員のオリジナリティーが反映され、自由裁量にゆだねられていた。現地調査で収集した、これらの多彩な実践事例を系統的に分類するとともに、質的な分析を加えた。一方、日本国内の調査では、課題解決型の学習、協働的な学習と関わらせた、テクノロジーの活用による創作活動の実践などが展開されてきている。例えば、関西のある私立中学校では、「探究科」の時間にドイツの会社の音楽創作ソフト、Ableton Liveが活用され、グループによる創作に取り組み始めている。今年度は、２つの国際学会において発信した。北京師範大学主催の教師教育学会 (2021年 オンライン開催) において研究成果の一部を発表していたが、このほど２編の発表論文が2022年３月に出版された。また、2022度７月開催のISME国際音楽教育学会豪州大会において、２つの口頭発表並びに２編の投稿論文が採択された。
